Governor of Ekiti State (2010-2014)

Kayode Fayemi was elected as the Governor of Ekiti State, Nigeria, for his first term in office from 2010 to 2014. During his tenure, he implemented a number of policies and programs aimed at promoting economic development, improving access to quality education and healthcare, and enhancing infrastructure across the state. One of his major accomplishments as governor was the establishment of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone, an initiative aimed at promoting knowledge-based industries and creating employment opportunities for the state's youth. The initiative led to the establishment of several technology hubs and the attraction of foreign investment to the state.

Fayemi also implemented policies aimed at improving the state's education system, including the distribution of free laptops to secondary school students and the construction of new school buildings and classrooms. Additionally, he prioritized healthcare, providing free medical care for pregnant women and children under five, and launching the "Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme" to provide affordable healthcare for all residents.

During his first term in office, Fayemi also prioritized infrastructure development, investing in road construction and maintenance, as well as the rehabilitation of public buildings and facilities. He also implemented a number of social welfare programs aimed at improving the standard of living for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons with disabilities.
