Chairperson of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group

Kayode Fayemi served as the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) from 2013 to 2014. The CMAG is a group of Commonwealth member states that works to promote and protect democracy, human rights, and the rule of law across the Commonwealth. As the Chairperson of the group, Fayemi played a key role in leading efforts to address violations of Commonwealth values and principles, including the suspension of member states that had experienced serious and persistent violations. He also worked to promote greater cooperation and collaboration among member states to address shared challenges and opportunities. Fayemi's leadership of the CMAG helped to strengthen the Commonwealth's commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, and promote greater stability and prosperity for all its member states.
